Founder of CyberEd
Simon Bergen-Henengouwen started CyberEd in 1997 to help capable engineering technologists and immigrant engineers prepare to write the technical exams.
Simon is an immigrant who received most of his education in Canada.
First, he obtained a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 1964.
Simon then became a P. Eng. by writing PEO technical exams. In fact, he was the PEO S.E. Wolfe Thesis Award winner for “the most outstanding thesis in 1967“.
He went on to earn a B. Eng. (Mechanical with distinction) and a M. Eng. (Aeronautical) at Carleton University.
Simon’s professional career included the National Research Council, Transport Canada, and SAIT.
Simon is now enjoying retirement but remains a P. Eng. Life Member with APEGA and a Fellow of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute.
Simon is no longer directly involved with CyberEd but his founding spirit remains.
